Neglect/A Web Developer’s Plea

This site has been neglected. I do apologize for that, but I have been busy working on many other projects. I finished the Blue Ridge Outfitters site, finally. I’m also working on a site for a photographer and her business, Precious Portrait. I am also redoing the SCHS site, cause the last one sucked, big time. This time, I’m doing it without them saying what they want, because what they want just doesn’t work. Like hover dropdown menus. Yeah, I can do it, but it is annoying for the end user (and me!). I am also working on a Maple Design revamp, because lets be honest, the current design sucks. I also finished a new version of the Kodaly Music for Children site. I’m also working on a site that has stuff for sale, so that when we put an ad in the paper, we can just put the website. Then people can go look at pictures, and get more details etc.
Now, for the plea. If any of you reading this are using Internet Explorer, please stop. Go get yourself a real browser, such as Firefox. I am sick and tired of having to rewrite code, and add special stylesheets for stupid IE. So please, do a web developer a favour and switch browsers. Please! IE also has many problems besides not being standards compliant, oh such as security. So it is in your best interest (and mine) for you to switch over to something else. Visit StopIE for more info.

Car and Driver Issues

Okay, so I love Car and Driver. It is by far the best automobile magazine out there. I have a subscription to it, as you can probably tell, but there is one thing I do not like. Recently, they have been sending out the issues way to early in my opinion. I got my April Edition at the beginning of March, and May at the beginning of April and so on. This, in my opinion, is way to early. I would expect the issue to come midway through the month before. So April comes in mid March. They didn’t used to be this way. They were really bad actually. I would get say, my October issue in November. Why can’t they just figure it out. When I got SkyNews, I got it mid month, and everything was fine.

Oh, and how about this. For the past couple months, I have been getting the World of Wheels magazine for free. They keep sending it to me “Compliments of World of Wheels.” I’ve gotten like every issue for the past 6 issues or so. Why would I subscribe if you are just going to send it to me? I think it is quite funny actually. Well that is my rant for today, look for another one soon.

Destruction

Monday afternoon was a fun one. I got to destroy what was left of my childhood fort in the woods, and my mountain biking North Shore stuff. Man, it was fun. I took the axe to a few things, ripped them to shreads. Then piled up all the wood. There was actually quite a bit. I took the hammer to a few things as well, not with the same result as the axe. It wasn’t as fun. I had my steel-toed boots on, so I kicked a few things. I went right through one piece. It was pretty fun. Amazing how such destruction can bring me such utter joy.

Parking

Okay, so today, during Media Arts, I come outside to get something from my car. The person behind me has parked about 2 inches from the back of my car. I was like a foot into my spot, so there was no reason for them to be that close. Then when I came out after school, some moron had parked in front of me, like in the road. Preston was parked beside me, and we both just kind of sat there. He got out, looked behind him and had enough room to back up, and squeeze out. After he had left, I pulled forward, then reversed, forward, then back, inch by inch, and so on, until I was able to get out. Seriously though, why did that person think that they could park there? How dumb are they?

2006 Calgary Auto Show

Well, I went yesterday evening. It was really fun, and so cool. They had everything. It was awesome. I took 69 digital pictures, and some 35mm pictures. The digital ones are in the photo section, and the 35mm still have to be developed. The pictures don’t have titles yet, because I haven’t got around to that yet. Food Poisoning

Well, now for some not so fun news. Last night, I got food poisoning. I figure it was from the Taco Bell. It ruined my whole day. I had stomach issues all day, and all last night. Last night, I couldn’t sleep because of my stomach pains. Then I threw up. That repeated a few times, and it was finally day. Today, my stomach still hurt, but we still did fun things.

First, we went to the Coyotes Den (the Phoenix Coyotes store). It was lots of fun. I got some fun things. We then went to the Apple Store. Now that was fun. They had so much. I was hoping they would have the MacBook Pro, but they didn’t.  I got Lego Star Wars, and some iPod stuff, plus the March issue of Macworld. I know I didn’t have to get that there, but I did. Anyways, just a nice update on the situation. Picture of the Apple Store will have to wait tell we get home, because we forgot the card reader.

Bored

I am now sitting by the pool, bored. Isn’t this exciting. My dad wanted me to look some geo caches in the Phoenix area. I found some, but in order to do a geo cache, one must actually have a GPS. So this could be interesting. Maybe we ill get one, but most likely we won’t. We went to Fry’s Electronics today. That was fun. That store is so huge, it has everything. If you ever needed anything electronically, they have it. From Computer parts, like Memory Express, to Appliances. They have it all. Its so huge. It is a really fun site. I am hoping that we will be able to get to the Phoenix Coyotes store sometime this week, hopefully tomorrow. I am hoping that we will look at some real estate well we are down here.

The hotel we are staying in is really nice. It has like four acres of water or more, is what they say, I think. Anyways, its pretty fun so far. The thing that gets me is that we have to pay $10 a day for internet access. And its not even that fast. I mean it is fast, but for 10 bucks a day, I should get faster. I am going to run some speed tests when I get back to the room, and see how fat it really is. Well, I don’t know what else to say. I am still at the pool, bored. That is why I am still typing, is because I have nothing better to do. So this may get a little boring, and random. Maybe I’ll write a story or something. Maybe I should write another random post like the crazies. That was fun, that one time. Well, here goes nothing but my time and yours.

Along time ago, there lived a gremlin. He lived by the sea in a giant, hollow palm tree. He liked his little home. it was cozy; that was all he needed. He lived by himself,living off of coconuts and ramble berries.( This type of berries is very rare, only growing in a few select locations throughout the whole world.) In his mind, he lived in a perfect world. Unbeknownst to him, trouble was brewing.

Okay, so it is the beginnings of a story. I can’t think of what happens next, so I guess thins will be an on going thing. Either that, or I will never speak of this little story again. I’ll decide that later. Right now, I am still sitting by the pool, and it has been like an hour, and guess what, I am still bored. So now I am at a lose. What am I going to do. I have nothing to do. Well, I guess i will just sit here. I might try and watch Diggnation, but that could be hard, as the sun makes it really hard to see the screen, but I’ll try I guess. Anyways, I guess I’ll stop typing, and thus stop wasting your time. If you have made it this far, good job. Now go find something else to do cause I’m done. At least for now that is.

Just a quick note from Sunny Arizona. We arrived yesterday, after an hour delay on the first flight. That delay then caused us to miss our connecting flight. Luckily, we were able to get tickets by being on standby for the 8:10 flight. That flight was late too, but that didn’t matter. Anyways, we are hainv fun down here.
