So, you want to know about me eh? I suppose that’s natural. You want to know about the guy who posts all this stupid stuff and thinks the internet actually cares. Well, I’m not that naive. I realize that this blog is just that, another blog. I know I don’t have very many readers. I know that the rest of the internet couldn’t care less about me, but I don’t care.
I write/update this site because I enjoy it. As a former web designer/developer, I enjoy the technical aspect of it as much as I do the actual posting. I love the challenge of it all, trying to get a certain thing to work with something else, trying to figure out why the page isn’t displaying properly, all that. So, now you’re probably thinking So, you enjoy it, but don’t do it anymore? How does that make sense? Well, I’ll tell you. I enjoy doing it for myself and my family/friends, but not really for other people. When I do it for myself I have total control and free reign. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. Also, if something is too hard or too frustrating, I can give up. I can’t really do that with a client’s website. I am bounded by what they want and how they want it.
Anyway, enough about that. What am I doing now you ask? Not much when it comes to making money. I am currently a geology major at the University of Calgary and plan to go into hydrology. I am also an amateur photographer. I have taken pictures in a professional capacity before, but do not consider myself a professional photographer. In fact, I don’t ever want to be a professional photographer. If you want to check out my photos, click on the ‘Photos’ tab. From there you can either check out my photos on flickr or go to my independent site that is, what some might call, my portfolio.
I love nature and I love being outdoors. I am fascinated by the Earth and how it all works. I find it amazing that I can sit here and write this while staring at a piece of petrified wood that is 250 million years old. If you haven’t guessed, that is why I’m in geology.
