UPS And Halo 2

Okay, this happened a while back, but I never got around to posting it till now.
My copy of Halo 2 was supposed to be here on Tuesday the 9th, but didn’t arrive in Calgary until Thursday the 11th. I finally received in Friday morning. Apparently, UPS had a late trailer problem, which was cause for some delay, but not all. When I did get it I found the shipping notice in the package, and it was supposed to be shipped on the 6th, not the 8th. Another thing was that on the UPS website, it said it went out for delivery Thursday at 9 AM. Frustrated at not getting it, I phoned UPS at about 6 PM that evening. I went through the maze of recordings, and finally was able to talk to a real person. She told me that my package would be delivered between now, being about 6, and 8 o clock that evening. This renewed my optimism. This newly found optimism was quickly crushed as the clock struck 8, and no package had been delivered. I was fuming mad. I considered phoning UPS once again, but didn’t really feel like it as it’s not like they could do anything anyways. They could give me no compensation. I would just have to wait. I anxiously awaited Friday morning for the UPS guy to come. Everyone one else had gone to my brother-in-law’s convocation, so I was home alone. Finally, at about 11:20, the UPS guy shows up, and I receive my copy. I was not very happy with UPS and Future Shop, and will not be buying anything through futureshop.ca, anymore. Nor will I ever be shipping anything via UPS. I would advise all of you to do the same.

Generalizations

I was appalled today, when reading the paper, to find that when something happens in the city three times, it is considered a “new trend.” I was reading an article about how on Halloween, some teens stole candy from others, at knife point. Yes, this is awful, and needs to be dealt with, I agree. But the articel states “The incidents – three in total – point to a disturbing trend…” It goes on to say that “Where youth once used physical violence,…they are now using knifes…” As a teen, I too, for the most part have my Swiss Army knife with me at all times. This does not mean, and I am going to pull it out and stab someone, or used it to rob a bank etc. Also, the article states that two of the incidents were pulled off by the same group. So, how is about three or four people, in a city of about a million, a startling new trend? And how is it enough to generalize about teenagers?

Another thing that bothers me, is that because we are in our teenage years, we are looked upon with no respect. Not me in specific, but teenagers, in general. Everyone assumes that because we are teenagers that we are all bad drivers, that we are stupid, that we steal, etc. I could go on about the assumptions people make, but I choose not too.

I am soooo fake pre-loading this image so the navigation doesn't skip while loading the over state. I know I could use the sliding doors technique to avoid this fate, but I am too lazy.
